Second Circle v0.2 Released






Second Circle v0.2 is now released! The work this month was mainly focused on adding an actual gameplay loop to the game instead of the previous release which could be considered more of a tech demo. Battling monstergirls is all well and good, but without objectives or a need to survive, there isn’t much tension to those battles. Now, you must brave the dungeon and defeat three minibosses to earn equipable accessories.
Another big improvement for this version is enhancing the android version, which was honestly a bit of an afterthought for the first version. However, since about half of the downloads were for Android, I greatly improved the UI for that version to be on par with the PC version and optimized the filesize of the game from 1.7GB to 1.3GB so I have more space to add future content within the APK filesize limit.
The new spicy content is more focused on refining and better using current assets than adding new ones. I’ve made huge improvements to the audio by syncing it for “rhythmic” attacks and added scripted surrender scenes for all the existing enemies. However, the tiny scene for the ratgirl does get new assets for a special vore ending.

Spicy Content:
-Added a special vore end sequence for the ratgirl tiny battle
-Added a scripted surrender scenes for the wolfgirl, wolfgirl (tiny), ratgirl, ratgirl (tiny), and the catgirl.
-Added synced audio for “rhythmic” attack animations and improved audio for most others.
Battle Mechanics:
-Added surrender option for battles to give up and view surrender scene
-Added a mechanic where slightly harder versions of wolf and rat battles appear about a third of the time.
-Added new cooldown reduction effects to Wolf Howl and Wolf Mating Press attacks
-Added followup attack effect to rat tiny Ravenous Sucking and Ravenous Slurp attacks
-Added new effects to Cat in Heat and Heated Shaking attacks
Dungeon and Home Mechanics:
-Added a dungeon exploration system with a short dungeon with three minibosses for players to challenge.
-Added three equipable accessories that provide stat boosts. These can be obtained by defeating the minibosses in the dungeon.
-Added house screen that includes inventory for key items/notes and a small, five-slot inventory for consumables that carries over between characters
-Cat hunger mechanic - the catgirl will appear as a random battle in the dungeon if her hunger is above a certain threshold.
Visual:
-Added additional animations to the intro sequence that were created for the trailer
-Added a GUI for Morgana's shop
Optimizations:
-Converted background images from png to jpg to reduce filesize
-Optimized display assets to reduce number of full size images
-Removed unused music tracks to reduce filesize
Android:
-Added icon for game (no more generic renpy icon!)
-Changed display settings to align with desktop version (no textbox background during battles/scenes)
Bugfixes:
-Fixed issue where opening the inventory screen (via backpack icon) during battle resulted in locked game
Known Issues:
-If inventory is full when obtaining an accessory, it will break the questline until that character dies.
